Elijah Wood has amassed quite the CV, appearing in many fantastical films which in turn spawned a number of action figures of the characters he plays (Lord Of The Rings, Frank Miller’s SIN CITY, Happy Feet). He is currently the voice actor behind BECK, a new character in Disney’s TRON: UPRISING, a anime-styled cartoon for the TRON franchise that reveals the events between TRON and TRON: LEGACY.
In interviews recently, Wood talks a little about action figures:
Q: Will you have a Beck action figure, and do you collect your own action figures?
WOOD: They haven’t made one yet, I don’t think. I hope they will. I most certainly have every action figure of myself. When I was young, I collected Star Wars toys and Batman action figures. As I became a teenager, I collected all the MacFarlane movie monster toys. I loved all that stuff, so it’s a dream come true. I remember the first time I had an action figure of myself. That’s a pretty huge head fuck for a 20-year-old. I had grown up with all of that. I have an action figure from Sin City. I’ve been very lucky to have a couple, much less one.
Full disclosure: I have almost ALL the TRON: LEGACY toys. If BECK comes out in action figure form, I will get that too. I regret nothing!!
Elijah Wood will be appear in the newest Peter Jackson installment of the J. R. R. Tolkien cycle THE HOBBIT, starting with THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY, in theatres December 2012.
